Biography: Born to Anai and Hamal Shakure in YC 92, Maru was the youngest of five children. The family lived in district 5 of Pantheum City on Ammoid Prime, an area considered to be the poorest in the solar system. Two of the older male children, Caleb and Sora, were believed to be incarcerated with a 25 years to life sentence. The older sister, Mila, was believed to have sold herself into prostitution at the age of 12. Maru was arrested for 570 counts of petty theft and assault starting in YC 100.
Maru avoided a 10 year sentence due to the initiation of the emergency conscription act of YC 104, requiring all citizens over the age of 12 to be assigned for active military duty and 4 weeks of training. Despite 18 counts of misconduct while in the Ammoid airforce, Shakure was awarded a total of 7 Class 1 awards for scholastic excellence. At age 17, Maru was assigned to Strike Team Wildcard on Pike's Landing. After 12 months she exceeded 800 confirmed kills with the 714th MTAC Battalion.
