Three Stars, One Moon
James Doron is your average dock worker just trying to get through life. James works day and night at a small Gallente station on the border of Caldari space. He has no kids or a nice woman in his life but he seems to manage with out, but this is all going to change.
Chapter I: The Woman.
"Damn it James, you were supposed to clean out the oxygen recyclers a week ago" can be heard over James' communicator as he is pulling parts out of a broken power converter. "Look boss I'm sorry. Ill get right on it after im done with this clean up." he replies. "You better or your going to be working in waste disposal for the next 10 years." is heard as he finishes his clean up and heads to the local cantina for a break.
Entering the sleezy cantina full with all sorts of walks of life from the random diplomat to the dirty smuggler. James takes a seat at a table near the bar and orders a refreshing glass of Quafe. He relaxes after 9 hours of work and enjoys his break until he notices a beautiful woman enter the cantina. of all the places why is such a lovely woman like this entering a dirty place like this? He thinks to him self. Suddenly the woman makes her way to his table and even requests if she can have a seat with him, well he certainly didnt refuse such a lovely sight.
She takes the seat next to him and starts up a conversation "My name is Rina and I'm pretty new to this part of space, is there anything I should know about?" He is almost frozen from the beauty of her voice but is able to work his words out.
"Well... it's nice to meet you ma'am, my name is James". He looks around the cantina then back at the woman. "You might be new but what made you come into a place like this?" She sighs and replies "I am not the most wealthy but I figured a place like this wouldnt cost me an arm and a leg for a drink and hopefully find some one that might know the system."
He clears his throught "Oh... well I have worked at this station for most my life and met a lot of travelers and ship captains during my time. I hear of grand stories of naval battles and amaizing sights. I tell you one captain once told me of a golden city floating in clouds of blue nebula." He takes a sip of his Quafe and continues. "But sadly this system is rather simple and doesnt have that great of sights, It is a simple trade system with only one colony of farmers."
3 men walk over, one of whom James can remember. He looks at the 3 men "May I help you gentlemen?" On of the three grins with an aweful look in his eye and punches James right out of his seat and the other two start to drag Rina away. James quickly gets up and grabs a chair to hit the two men holding Rina while the third takes out a side arm. Rina runs while James quickly kicks the gun out of the mans arms and uses one of his tools to stab him, the other two run off.
James turns around to see that Rina is gone, so he begins to run out of the cantina and still sees no sign of her. James makes his way to the docking bay on that level to see if the manager knows who she was.
James finds the manager of docking bay Y32 and asks, "Sir do you know of a woman named Rina?" The manager replies, "Do you mean Rina Farix?" James brings up a holo pic of her and the manager replies "Yep thats her alright, She is some kind of scientist that was headed for a moon in a near by system called Unertek." James gives a sigh of reliefe. "Do you know of any ships that might be headed that way?" The dock manager smiles "James I didnt take you for the type to chase a woman across the galaxy" James sighs, "Man I think im in love with this woman, I know that many people say that love at first sight doesnt exsist but I hope it does or else im going crazy" James starts to walk off whent he dock manager replies "The Olef is the only ship I know that is heading that way. Try its captain." James looks back and smiles as he heads for the Olef.
Chapter II: The Chase.
James makes his way to the Olef to find that its not a simple freighter like he thought but a Heavy Assault ship (Deimos class). James asks some of the mercs hanging around the dock where the captain would be. The mercs only laugh and point toward the load master who is arguing with a rather large gallente man.
James interrupts the two arguing over ammunition load regs and asks the large man "Hey I heard your the captain of the Olef, is that true?". The large man just waves for the load master to leave and responds to James. "Aye this be the Olef and I am indeed the captain. Why do you ask?" James being rather nervous because he knows what mercs can be like and just responds "Well I hear your heading too or at least near unertek and I need voyage there." The large man just grins and then punches James almost as hard as he can, knocking James down but not out. "Hahaha... hmm your tougher than you look little man, I tell you what, you can come aboard but dont expect any special treatment. You pull your weight and you can stay the whole journey. What do you have skills in any ways?". James just wipes the blood from his face and responds "I am an engineer if you could use one." The captain responds with a smile and says "Well I am Cpt.Yuri and this is a combat ship so we need engineers, so your onboard with the engineering chief. Go get your hands dirty boy and you will be there in no time."
James found him self on the bridge working the energy transfer systems as they undock and begin their journey. The Deimos aligns and snaps into warp and the engines buzz as they whip through space and reach the first gate of 20.
Every thing is going smoothly but the captain seems cautious about the scan reports, suddenly as they pass through the 10th gate the captain orders the helmsman to warp by the system star for a quick stop. James notices the captain beginning to sweat and thinks to him self (something isnt right.). Suddenly a fleet warps in with 3 cruisers and 5 frigates lead by a single absolution command ship. The captain quickly orders a escape warp but 3 of the frigates scramble the ships warp drive and the command ship hales the Deimos.
Command ship captain: "Well it seems we have finally caught up to you, you merc scum" Olef: "What the hell do you want? Do you know who your screwing with?" The command ship captain: "I am Edan Fox and we know exactly who you are and what you have done, and why are we here? hmm lets see... ah yes its because you are assisting Matari terrorists and we have been hired by the Amarr empire to eliminate you" Edan Fox gives the order to fire as his comms disconnect and all the vessels open fire as Olef starts yelling out orders for evasive action and return fire.
The Deimos fights hard and proud as its crew and James work in the hopes that they can survive such a foe. Several minutes in and the Deimos has eliminated 2 of the 3 cruisers and 3 of the five frigates but its armor is slowly being chewed up. Soon the Deimos is left to deal with the only the absolution but the command ship is heavily armored and the Deimos starts to burn as its armor is completely gone. Olef gives out the order to abandon ship, James rushes to the nearest escape pod and ejects as the cruiser explodes into scrap and dust blowing his pod away
The enemy command ship starts scanning the pods and destroying them one by one and James can only sit back and watch as the crew is killed. The command ship reaches James' pod and seems to hesitate and then tractor beams the pod into its cargo bay.
His pod is ripped open as the soldiers onboard drag him out and put him into a small security room where he is restrained into a chair, James keeps asking "What is happening? why did you not kill me like the others?" One of the soldiers just replies "The captain will see you soon"
Chapter III: The Face Of Evil.
Edan Fox enters the room and looks at James for several mins not saying a word, James just stares back afraid to say anything but conjures up the will to ask "Why didnt you kill me?"
Edan Fox walks up to James the tall dark skinned man just looms over him and in a deep voice "Why are you not on the crew manifest?". James confused just replies "Um... well I was just a passenger." Edan Fox leans in to look James in the eyes. "Is that so? The ship black box reports you working as an engineer. So tell me, WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU DOING ON THAT SHIP!!" Edan Fox kicks James in the chest knocking him and the chair backwards onto the ground. Edan Fox walks around James to lean over him and continues to ask "Now why were you on that ship? I want answers you little prick." James just coughs and replies "I was working engineering because the captain said I could not come aboard with out pulling my weight." Edan Fox looks at one of the guards and then back at James. "Is that so? Well then I guess if you want to stay on my ship then you better do the same."
James is let out of the chair and he looks to Edan Fox and asks "What kind of work will I be doing?" Edan Fox just looks at him and chuckles as he motions for the man to follow him. The arrive in another security room with a young man that looks like some kind of researcher. Edan Fox turns to James and says "Now I want you to pull your weight and ask this man where his station is." James proceeds to ask the man "Where is your station." The researcher looks at James and spits on him "I wont tell you shit."
Edan Fox looks at James. "I said ask him, not sit there and have a conversation." James responds "What do you mean?" Edan Fox: "Do I have to spell it out? I want you to torture this guy and tell me where the damn station is."
James looks at the poor man and raises his fist, he stares at it for a few seconds then sucks in some air as he swings his fist at the man's face. Hitting as hard as he can he causes some blood to fly out of his mouth. James: "I don't wish to do this but Edan really wants that information." James punches the man again and again, then suddenly he responds. "I will give the info you want. The station is located in deep space at co-ordinance 24.58.83.72 Now let me go you evil bastards!" James looks at Edan Fox who has an evil grin. Edan looks at James and says "Well done boy, I didnt think you would have it in ya." He then pulls out a pistol and shoots the tortured man in the head. James is in shock and looks to Edan Fox "Why did you have to kill him?" Edan looks at James and says "I am not going to carry that trash on my ship." Edan Fox motions to his second in command to grab James "Take him to the brig and keep him there. He pulled his weight and I have a special place to drop him off." James is dragged to the brig and Edan heads for the bridge
Chapter IV: The Void
Edan comes out of warp to a small station and is hailed, he opens the comms ship wide for the crew to hear. Station: "You are in violation of Ethran private air space codes 277.4,188, and 663.5 Now adjust your course and leave the area and avoid this station by 50 AU radius." Edan: "Comon now, I cant be in violation of that many fucking codes, oh fuck this why am I arguing with an AI, atleast you sound sexy." Station: "I am not an AI, I am Dr. Rina Farix head of administration on this station and I demand that you leave the area or hostile actions will be taken."
James hears the woman call her self Rina Farix and punches the wall and screaming no because he knows what that vile Edan Fox is going to do. Edan: "Thats perfect, I will be taking you alive then, oh and I am not alone." The ship lights up a cyno and a large force shows up and they all open fire on the station. The station boosts its defenses but isnt built to handle such a large force. It also deploys hundreds of drones to attack the opposing force.
James is helpless but to listen to the battle through the comms and feel the ship take a beating. but after hours of fighting it all gets quiet as his worse fears race through his head, did the love of his life just die on a station, the woman that he went looking for just to be a prisoner on a merc ship and to have his dream crushed.
Guards come into his cell and take him to an escape pod and Edan is there waiting. Edan: "Hmm you look like you want to kill me." He smiles with his devilish grin. "Good cuz I am about to just leave you to float by the wreckage of this station, oh and I was watching your reaction to the comms and I know you have feelings for that Rina bitch so I am going to enjoy breaking her." James' expression quickly changes from hate to a slight bet of hope and Edan catches it. "Oh yes, she is alive and well but for how long that lasts... well it depends on how much she fights back." Edan shoves James into the escape pod and leaves him adrift in space.
James trying all he can to get the pod to go to the nearest planet, gives up after hours of running through its systems to find that its whole propulsion system was removed. James stuck out in space alone with only a small view port that looks out into the deep void of space. He can see the star of the system he used to live and work at, a small dim flicker is all that he can make out, but he knows what system it is.
Chapter V: The Savior
Starving and running low on air James just sits looking out of the small view port into the dark void, hope all but gone he sits in pain knowing the woman of his dreams is being hunted by the very evil he had to witness. but just as he gives up what hope he has left, a light comes through the view port.
The life pod begins to jerk as its pulled by a tractor beam. He sees the ship that is pulling him in, its an orca. James cant believe that out of all this empty space that one lone Orca comes to his rescue.
Aboard the ship he is greeted by a voice over the voice comms built into the ship, a deep thundering voice echos through the ship saying "Welcome aboard the Naruta stranger" James is confused and asks "Who are you and how did you know to rescue me?" The voice replies "I am a capsuleer, the name isnt important right now. How I found you is a funny story. You see, I was out scanning for new ore sites and your life pod came up and I was curious and so here you are." James tries to ask more but his throat is dry from dehidration but suddenly the skeleton crew of the Naruta bring him water and food.
Hours go by and James finally gets done recovering and asks the capsuleer "Please can you help me get to the one I love?" The capsuleer's thundering voice is heard again "Well my friend I happen to have a shuttle in the hold that you may have." James is shocked that some one would give him a whole shuttle no questions asked. James replies "Do you not want anything in return? A shuttle is a good bit of money." The capsuleer is quiet for a moment and then replies "Ah yes well I deal with currency much larger than the average person so its no loss to me. Take it and any crew you may need." James just replies "Thank you so much." He takes the shuttle and heads to the research station hoping to beat Edan Fox there.
Chapter VI: The Broken Moon
James reaches the station and it seems all is fine. Feeling that he beat Edan Fox there, he proceeds to contact the station to see if he can dock. The station orbiting a small cracked moon he gets the confirmation that he is able to dock.
Aboard the station James is greeted by several security guards asking why he is there. "I need to worn you of an attack, A war lord is on his way and he means to destroy this station and steal anything he can." The guards look at each other for a moment then report the warning to the station CEO. James asks one of the guards if he can speak to Rina Farix. The guard nods and takes him to her.
Taken to a small office that is very clean and then he sees her sitting at her desk, his eyes widen and his heart skips a beat as he picks up the pace and rushes into the office the guard surprised tries to catch him. He rushes up to the desk and screams out "OH MY GOD YOUR ALIVE! I have been looking for you for what feels like an eternity." Rina just looks shocked to see the man she had only spoken to for just a few hours. The guard rushes in and asks "Ma'am is this man some one you know? Or should I escort him away?" Rina just motions the guard away with her hand. Rina: "What are you doing here James? Last I saw you was working on that station. You look like you have been through a war." James sighs and explains everything to her in great detail. Rina stands and is about to give James a hug until the station alarms go off and emergency messages are sent out about a fleet inbound. Rina turns and rushes to her computer and James asks "What are you doing? we should get off the station as soon as possible." Rina looks to James and says "I have to save my data, this is very important." James: "What is so important about it? is it worth your life?" Rina: "Yes, this could change medical science for generations to come."
Edan Fox comes out of warp with a whole war fleet ready to engage and siege the station. James looks at Rina "Look Rina, I have to tell you that ever since that day I saw you, I have loved you. I cant explain it but I came all this way just to see you and along the way I have learned that I must save you as well. We have to leave now." Rina looks at him with a compassionate look "Its done transferring now and I think I have felt the same way james, its like we are meant to be together." James grabs her and kisses her and quickly starts leading her to the dock.
The station shakes from the incoming attacks from Edan Fox and his fleet. James and Rina reach the main hall but the floor breaks out from beneath them sending them several decks down, Rina's leg is broken and James alright. He looks to Rina "Are you ok?" Rina: "No I think my leg is broken, I cant run." James picks her up "I am not leaving you here, we are getting off this damn station."
CONCORD shows up and opens fire on the invading fleet but they still fire on the station. Suddenly a compartment next to James explodes sending shrapnel at him and causing him to fall dropping Rina. "Rina are you ok?" He hears no reply and rushes to turn her over to see if she is ok but he sees that her throat has been slit open by the shrapnel. James tries to stop the blood from coming out but is helpless to do so. He breaks down in tears but still struggles to pick her up and carry her to his shuttle.
He makes it to the shuttle with her in his arms. They escape the station and he heads to the nearest medical station.
Chapter VII: Eternal Medicine
On his way to the nearest medical station he is greeted by a familiar voice. Thundering into the shuttle's comms the capsuleer returns "Hello again, did you find your loved on?" James silent and replies "I wasnt able to save her, she is here on the shuttle I am trying to get her to a medical bay." The capsuleer replies "Dock with my Orca, have a medical bay onboard." James does so and medical droids rush her to the bay. James stands holding the data pad that Rina used but one of the droids takes it and uploads the information to the Orca and the Capsuleer responds "My friend, do you know what you had on that data pad?" James replies with a no. capsuleer: "Well it seems this is a new type of cloning technique. It can be used to clone dead people back to life if done recently after death." James: "Wait so could this be done to Rina?" Capsuleer: "I dont see why not, It could work as long as her brain is still intact." James: "Then please I beg of you to use it." The capsuleer is silent and the droids begin to change their operations.
Hours later Rina walks out of the cloning bay to greet James. James is speechless and runs to hug her. Rina looks at James and asks "You used my data didnt you?" James just nods as Rina smiles. "I wasnt sure it would work my self" Rina looks around and asks "Where are we?" The capsuleer responds "You are on the Naruta, I am glad to know that cloning technique worked for you." Rina replies "Well thank you so much... I am not sure I got your name."
The Naruta suddenly shakes violently. James asks "What is going on?" The capsuleer responds "We are under attack, Some one named Edan Fox wants that data you had." James: "I am getting tired of this fucker, What are we going to do?" The capsuleer: "I have called for back up, this isnt exactly a war ship but its owned by a very wealthy man." The Naruta takes hit after hit as Edan Fox fires everything he has. James and Rina can see out the window that a large fleet shows up of mixed ships, they all seem to deal with Edan Fox as if he was a first day captain. Capsuleer: "Those are my friends come to help, I will let you all leave now and please dont be afraid to call me for help" James grins "What is your name any ways?" Capsuleer: "Oh my call sign is Red Moon." James replies with a thanks and takes Rina to the shuttle where they undock and warp off into the void.

Edan Fox motions to his second in command to grab James "Take him to the brig and keep him there. He pulled his weight and I have a special place to drop him off." James is dragged to the brig and Edan heads for the bridge
Chapter IV: The Void
Edan comes out of warp to a small station and is hailed, he opens the comms ship wide for the crew to hear. Station: "You are in violation of Ethran private air space codes 277.4,188, and 663.5 Now adjust your course and leave the area and avoid this station by 50 AU radius." Edan: "Comon now, I cant be in violation of that many fucking codes, oh fuck this why am I arguing with an AI, atleast you sound sexy." Station: "I am not an AI, I am Dr. Rina Farix head of administration on this station and I demand that you leave the area or hostile actions will be taken."
James hears the woman call her self Rina Farix and punches the wall and screaming no because he knows what that vile Edan Fox is going to do. Edan: "Thats perfect, I will be taking you alive then, oh and I am not alone." The ship lights up a cyno and a large force shows up and they all open fire on the station. The station boosts its defenses but isnt built to handle such a large force. It also deploys hundreds of drones to attack the opposing force.
James is helpless but to listen to the battle through the comms and feel the ship take a beating. but after hours of fighting it all gets quiet as his worse fears race through his head, did the love of his life just die on a station, the woman that he went looking for just to be a prisoner on a merc ship and to have his dream crushed.
Guards come into his cell and take him to an escape pod and Edan is there waiting. Edan: "Hmm you look like you want to kill me." He smiles with his devilish grin. "Good cuz I am about to just leave you to float by the wreckage of this station, oh and I was watching your reaction to the comms and I know you have feelings for that Rina bitch so I am going to enjoy breaking her." James' expression quickly changes from hate to a slight bet of hope and Edan catches it. "Oh yes, she is alive and well but for how long that lasts... well it depends on how much she fights back." Edan shoves James into the escape pod and leaves him adrift in space.
James trying all he can to get the pod to go to the nearest planet, gives up after hours of running through its systems to find that its whole propulsion system was removed. James stuck out in space alone with only a small view port that looks out into the deep void of space. He can see the star of the system he used to live and work at, a small dim flicker is all that he can make out, but he knows what system it is.
Chapter V: The Savior
Starving and running low on air James just sits looking out of the small view port into the dark void, hope all but gone he sits in pain knowing the woman of his dreams is being hunted by the very evil he had to witness. but just as he gives up what hope he has left, a light comes through the view port.
The life pod begins to jerk as its pulled by a tractor beam. He sees the ship that is pulling him in, its an orca. James cant believe that out of all this empty space that one lone Orca comes to his rescue.
Aboard the ship he is greeted by a voice over the voice comms built into the ship, a deep thundering voice echos through the ship saying "Welcome aboard the Naruta stranger" James is confused and asks "Who are you and how did you know to rescue me?" The voice replies "I am a capsuleer, the name isnt important right now. How I found you is a funny story. You see, I was out scanning for new ore sites and your life pod came up and I was curious and so here you are." James tries to ask more but his throat is dry from dehidration but suddenly the skeleton crew of the Naruta bring him water and food.
Hours go by and James finally gets done recovering and asks the capsuleer "Please can you help me get to the one I love?" The capsuleer's thundering voice is heard again "Well my friend I happen to have a shuttle in the hold that you may have." James is shocked that some one would give him a whole shuttle no questions asked. James replies "Do you not want anything in return? A shuttle is a good bit of money." The capsuleer is quiet for a moment and then replies "Ah yes well I deal with currency much larger than the average person so its no loss to me. Take it and any crew you may need." James just replies "Thank you so much." He takes the shuttle and heads to the research station hoping to beat Edan Fox there.
Chapter VI: The Broken Moon
James reaches the station and it seems all is fine. Feeling that he beat Edan Fox there, he proceeds to contact the station to see if he can dock. The station orbiting a small cracked moon he gets the confirmation that he is able to dock.
Aboard the station James is greeted by several security guards asking why he is there. "I need to worn you of an attack, A war lord is on his way and he means to destroy this station and steal anything he can." The guards look at each other for a moment then report the warning to the station CEO. James asks one of the guards if he can speak to Rina Farix. The guard nods and takes him to her.
Taken to a small office that is very clean and then he sees her sitting at her desk, his eyes widen and his heart skips a beat as he picks up the pace and rushes into the office the guard surprised tries to catch him. He rushes up to the desk and screams out "OH MY GOD YOUR ALIVE! I have been looking for you for what feels like an eternity." Rina just looks shocked to see the man she had only spoken to for just a few hours. The guard rushes in and asks "Ma'am is this man some one you know? Or should I escort him away?" Rina just motions the guard away with her hand. Rina: "What are you doing here James? Last I saw you was working on that station. You look like you have been through a war." James sighs and explains everything to her in great detail. Rina stands and is about to give James a hug until the station alarms go off and emergency messages are sent out about a fleet inbound. Rina turns and rushes to her computer and James asks "What are you doing? we should get off the station as soon as possible." Rina looks to James and says "I have to save my data, this is very important." James: "What is so important about it? is it worth your life?" Rina: "Yes, this could change medical science for generations to come."
Edan Fox comes out of warp with a whole war fleet ready to engage and siege the station. James looks at Rina "Look Rina, I have to tell you that ever since that day I saw you, I have loved you. I cant explain it but I came all this way just to see you and along the way I have learned that I must save you as well. We have to leave now." Rina looks at him with a compassionate look "Its done transferring now and I think I have felt the same way james, its like we are meant to be together." James grabs her and kisses her and quickly starts leading her to the dock.
The station shakes from the incoming attacks from Edan Fox and his fleet. James and Rina reach the main hall but the floor breaks out from beneath them sending them several decks down, Rina's leg is broken and James alright. He looks to Rina "Are you ok?" Rina: "No I think my leg is broken, I cant run." James picks her up "I am not leaving you here, we are getting off this damn station."
CONCORD shows up and opens fire on the invading fleet but they still fire on the station. Suddenly a compartment next to James explodes sending shrapnel at him and causing him to fall dropping Rina. "Rina are you ok?" He hears no reply and rushes to turn her over to see if she is ok but he sees that her throat has been slit open by the shrapnel. James tries to stop the blood from coming out but is helpless to do so. He breaks down in tears but still struggles to pick her up and carry her to his shuttle.
He makes it to the shuttle with her in his arms. They escape the station and he heads to the nearest medical station.
Chapter VII: Eternal Medicine
On his way to the nearest medical station he is greeted by a familiar voice. Thundering into the shuttle's comms the capsuleer returns "Hello again, did you find your loved on?" James silent and replies "I wasnt able to save her, she is here on the shuttle I am trying to get her to a medical bay." The capsuleer replies "Dock with my Orca, have a medical bay onboard." James does so and medical droids rush her to the bay. James stands holding the data pad that Rina used but one of the droids takes it and uploads the information to the Orca and the Capsuleer responds "My friend, do you know what you had on that data pad?" James replies with a no. capsuleer: "Well it seems this is a new type of cloning technique. It can be used to clone dead people back to life if done recently after death." James: "Wait so could this be done to Rina?" Capsuleer: "I dont see why not, It could work as long as her brain is still intact." James: "Then please I beg of you to use it." The capsuleer is silent and the droids begin to change their operations.
Hours later Rina walks out of the cloning bay to greet James. James is speechless and runs to hug her. Rina looks at James and asks "You used my data didnt you?" James just nods as Rina smiles. "I wasnt sure it would work my self" Rina looks around and asks "Where are we?" The capsuleer responds "You are on the Naruta, I am glad to know that cloning technique worked for you." Rina replies "Well thank you so much... I am not sure I got your name."
The Naruta suddenly shakes violently. James asks "What is going on?" The capsuleer responds "We are under attack, Some one named Edan Fox wants that data you had." James: "I am getting tired of this fucker, What are we going to do?" The capsuleer: "I have called for back up, this isnt exactly a war ship but its owned by a very wealthy man." The Naruta takes hit after hit as Edan Fox fires everything he has. James and Rina can see out the window that a large fleet shows up of mixed ships, they all seem to deal with Edan Fox as if he was a first day captain. Capsuleer: "Those are my friends come to help, I will let you all leave now and please dont be afraid to call me for help" James grins "What is your name any ways?" Capsuleer: "Oh my call sign is Red Moon." James replies with a thanks and takes Rina to the shuttle where they undock and warp off into the void.
